Marbella Golf Course Information
Here at My Guide Marbella team we don't claim to be excellent golfers but we have hacked our way round all of the courses listed on the site (apart from Valderrama who wouldn’t have us ruffians on the course) so here are a some wise words to help you select a few courses that you might enjoy.
La Cala has three quality 18 hole golf courses and the David Leadbetter golf academy offering expert tuition and learning programmes.
A well known course on the coast, that offers golf amidst the orange groves is Los Naranjos, a friendly, good quality course in the medium price range. If you’re looking for a real challenge then head up into the hills to Monte Mayor, a one of a kind golf course that certainly offers a memorable game of golf but make sure you go armed with plenty of balls.
If you’re looking for a decent driving range then the Magna Marbella Golf has a nice two tiered number, where you can blast out balls looking over San Pedro to the sea beyond. Perfect in the evenings to watch the sun go down and then have a drink in the Magna Café which has a wonderful terrace.
La Quinta is a good all rounder with its three 9 holes where you can mix and match and is reasonably priced and makes for a great round although it can get very very busy.
In the more upmarket field there is the Marbella Club Golf Resort which is for the exclusive use of guests of the Marbella Club and Puente Romano Hotels, which offers fantastic beach side golf and views across to Gibralta and of course two courses that probably need no introduction, the two best on the coast Las Brisas and Valderrama. To play these two you will need to book in advance and pay through the nose but are of course well worth the experience. Las Brisas in the early morning light, dew on the grass, with its countless trees and streams makes you realise what a special game golf really is.
