This Museum, the 'Casa Natal' is situated in the very house where the famed artist, Pablo Picasso, was born and where he spent his first childhood years. The museum traces Picasso’s life and work and contains ceramics, etchings and drawings made by the great artist. There are videos, photos and other materials that provide the highlights of Picasso’s life and artistic career.
The Picasso Foundation Museum, on the first floor, has five halls. 1. XIX Century’s Hall - The work of José Ruiz Blasco, Picasso’s father, the big Canvas “Palomar” (dovecote), reigns over the hall. It has also two photographs of José Ruiz Blasco and two paintings of José Denis Belgrano. 2. Picasso’s parents - In this hall are collected the personal effects in relation to the artist’s parents. 3. Picasso from Málaga - Here, with a great emotional charge are exhibited the items that witness Picasso life’s first days in this house (objects, photographs, the portrait of the young Picasso painted by himself…). 4 and 5. Serra’s Collection - The exhibition of 25 Ceramics of Picasso, offered by the collector and businessman from Majorca, Pere A. Serra.
