Marbella this year will be celebrating Christmas with a new programme of over 150 activities, as well as 30 children’s events, a dozen Christmas carol services and visits from Santa across different neighbourhoods and associations.
The programme will be kicked off by a children’s party and a procession in Avenida Nabeul on
Thursday 30th at 16.30h.
At 19.00 hrs the celebrations will continue with a children animation show in Paseo de la Alameda, where at 8pm the traditional ceremony of switching on the Christmas lights will take place accompanied by a performance by Dani Cantos.
There will be an audio-visual show every day at 19.00 hrs in Paseo de la Alameda and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will also be another procession at 20.00h.
December the 1st will also be an evening full of surprises, starting at 18.00 hrs with the inauguration of Bethlehem municipal in La Plaza de la Divina Pastora by the The Bethlehem association of Marbella
Also the 1st of December from 18.00 hrs, the inauguration of the old municipal Belen in Plaza de la Divina Pastora of the María Rosa Divine Belen Association. The Belen in Plaza de la Iglesia and an exhibition of paintings in Plaza de la Victoria.
Tuesday 5th of December will see the procession to welcome Father Christmas who will make an appearance at 17.00 hrs starting at Plaza del Santo Cristo and passing through the streets of the Old Town. What is more, in Plaza de la Iglesia there will be a children’s show where the stage will also be the setting for a white Christmas. The shepherd's competition will take place on Sunday the 10th at 5 pm in the Plaza de Santo Cristo where participants can enjoy a paella with chocolate and churros. On the same day at 5.30pm in the Hospital Real de la Misericordia, there will be the prize giving for the kids “Christmas Card” competition.
On the 27th of December in Plaza de la Iglesia at 5 pm, there will be the kid's show “Magic Times” to welcome the Royal Postman and the 3 Kings.
Another new event this Christmas will be the Candy House which will be found in the Temple on the Paseo de la Alameda. The Ice Kingdom in the Plaza del Mercado, with lots of attractions and a skating rink and the mini chimes for the little ones on the 30th of December at 12pm in Plaza de la Inglesa which will also be the scene on the 31st of the traditional bell ringing accompanied by the duo Arenal and the Velada Orchestra.
The 4th of January, the Three Kings will appear in Calle Huerta Chica at 5 pm and parade the streets of the centre of town in carriages of the era. On Friday the 5th at 11 am they will visit the hospitals Quiron and Costa del Sol and at 6 pm will see the start of the traditional Kings procession starting in Avenida Servera Ochoa.
