Marbella Beaches
Marbella
Whether you want a lazy day doing nothing or want to do some fun activities, the beaches in Marbella certainly won't disappoint.
The Marbella coast line is long and the beaches are many and varied providing different locations for families, party goers and those who want to lay in the sun all day long. There are 24 beaches along the coast and many boast the prestigious Blue Flag award proving that they are among the best in the world when it comes to cleanliness, safety and the management of the surrounding environment.
Whether you want to visit the beaches in the height of summer or on a crisp winter's day, there are also many choices of restaurants and bars for you to grab a bite to eat and drink while soaking up the atmosphere. Many of the following beaches encompass more than one area so you will find a lot to do if you want to take a walk when you visit these beaches.
Playa de la Fontanilla is right next to the port in Marbella and you can hire pedalos, sun beds and parasols while you are there. There are also a number of chiriguitos on this beach so you can choose whichever you prefer. From any point along the beach you can join the paseo which runs the complete length of the beach in Marbella and is a lovely walk.
Playa Alicate encompasses a large area on the East side of Marbella which begins near to the Los Monteros Hotel and continues right along the Costa Bella area. You will find a host of fantastic chiringuitos along this strip of beach and it is probably one of the best areas to head to as a family as the waters are shallow and great for little ones to splash around in.
Playa San Pedro a Alcantara is a long strip of beach that also includes a pleasant walkway or paseo and is very wide. The area also has many restaurants and sun beds for your day at the beach.
Playa Nagueles is the strip of beach on the Golden Mile near to the prestigious Hotel Puente Romano and the Marbella Club. It is a popular beach with a long paseo for those who also want to walk, bike or skate. There are a number of both chiringuitos and smarter restaurants on this beach so you can choose which type of cuisine you want.
Playa de Levante is the name for the beach in Puerto Banus where you will find many sunbeds occupied all day long in the summer months. The water in Puerto Banus is quite shallow so it is a good place for children and there is of course much to do should you fancy getting something to eat or taking a walk. Also just off the beach to the west of Puerto Banus you will find Costa Waterpark, a brand new waterpark that is floating in the sea.
