Gibraltar Cable Car
Marbella
There are more than 500 different species of flora so far discovered on the Rock's slopes, some of which are indigenous to Gibraltar.
The Cable Car is the best way to the "Top of the Rock" and a must-see attraction for all visitors to Gibraltar. The journey takes passengers 412m above sea level in approximately 6 minutes offering spectacular views all the way. The Top Station is perched at the very summit of the Rock of Gibraltar, with the sheer cliffs to the east and tree covered slopes leading to the City of Gibraltar to the west. It runs continuously throughout the day, approximately every 10 minutes.
The Top Station terraces offer the most spectacular views of Europe and Africa; southwards across the Strait of Gibraltar to Africa; westwards over the City of Gibraltar and across the Bay to Algeciras; a birds eye view of Gibraltar airport and Spain to the north; and the blue expanse of the Mediterranean and the beaches and cities of the Costa del Sol to the east.
Visitors to the Cable Car will be able to meet Gibraltar's oldest residents, the famous Barbary Apes, in their natural environment. The Top of the Rock is also a natural viewing point from where to admire the many birds that migrate between Europe and Africa annually.
The Cable Car team work closely with the Gibraltar Ornithological & Natural History Society in maintaining the apes' well being. The MH Bland Group is an active member of the Society's endeavours in preserving the environment.
From November 1 until March 31, the last cable car returns at 5.45pm.
Passengers will be able to pick up a bite to eat and a drink whilst taking in the spectacular views around them at the self-service air-conditioned snack bar located within the Top Station complex. Group bookings can be taken in advance.
