Directions to Los Bandidos
Not once have I walked past the restaurant at dinner time and seen it empty whether it be winter or summer, which is something very few restaurants in this overcrowded business can boast. So finally I decided to see what the fuss was about, although it was busy I walked in without a reservation and was quickly seated outside under a warm halogen lamp. The decor inside the restaurant is quite typically Spanish, a lot of dark wood, old photos on the walls and hanging Jamon Iberico legs.
The food at Los Bandidos is a mixture of the finest French and Swedish cuisine. Amongst the starters was Soup of the Day, salads, and more substantial dishes of foie gras; I spotted the Norwegian salmon, red onion and toast that was delicious. For mains we went for a steak fondue, similar to a pierre chaud but with a boiling cauldron of oil for cooking your meat, mushrooms and peppers in, this was accompanied with a selection of six sauces, some of them delicious and a portion of fries.
Unfortunately because we sat outside the oil didn't stay at boiling temperature for too long and the staff who kept having to go and heat the oil up again, however they were so charming and apologetic about the incident that we barely noticed it and on the third heating we had polished off the meat and letting the food settle with a final glass of wine. The meal and the staff were great but the prices reflect the quality and location. Los Bandidos is located next to the Louis Vuitton shop down at the smaller boat end of the port.
