Sonora Beach
Marbella
Sonora brings out the secret hippie in all of us. If you like
Sonora Beach is an amazingly refreshing addition to Marbella with its chilled out, laid back and funky set-up. The owners have embellished the deep wooden bohemian-style structure of the beach club with vibrant yellows, reds and purples and lush green exotic plants. The music is cool and if you've ever been to Ibiza or Tarifa then you'll know exactly what Sonora is all about.
The food meets the standards of the restaurant, completely delicious and original. Their clams 'made the important way' are baked off with gratinee potatoes soaked in the wine and herb sauce of the clams. Unbelievably tasty! The seared tuna steaks are divine and to top it off, their home-made desserts are mouthwateringly wonderful! Rather than finish the meal off with coffee, be sure to try their fresh vanilla tea, served with flower honey or brown sugar. Head Chef Nicolás Echazarra has brought some new and interesting additions to the menu. Restaurant hours are 11am to 1pm for breakfast and 1pm to 6pm for lunch.
If you like to relax, enjoy good food and be near the sea amongst people who truly love the same atmosphere, then Sonora Beach is a must. And, to top it off they also have a massage corner that specialises in Thai massage and Oil massage as well as yoga lessons two mornings a week.
If you're in Marbella on the 23rd of June then why not make your way down to Sonora Beach and celebrate San Juan (Midsommer night) with their big beach BBQ and flowing sangria. And why not pop into their boutique which sells their own designs called Mucholarala - clothing and accessories that are produced in Bali every year.
Sonora is open every day in the Summer from 11am to 8pm and on weekends in October weather permitting.
Sonora has live music and a DJ every Sunday from 5pm.
