Музей современной испанской гравюры был открыт 28 ноября 1992 года на основе первого пожертвования, состоявшего из 1350 графических работ современных испанских авторов.

С момента открытия, и по явному желанию его основателя, Музей стал живым центром размышлений и действий в области искусства с большой буквы, но также особенно в области современного испанского искусства и, фундаментально, мира оригинальной графики: выставки, национальные премии по гравюре, мастерская по гравюре, конференции, специализированная библиотека и т. д.

В настоящее время в музее насчитывается около четырех тысяч работ, выполненных различными техниками: гравюра (царапина, сухой конец, штамповка ...), литография, силкография, кизлография, аддитивные техники, а также цифровая печать. К коллекции гравюр следует добавить важный фонд, состоящий из так называемых художественных книг.
