Art Fair

ART/Marbella has come to the Palacio de Congresos in Marbella and it's the first major modern and contemporary art fair of its kind on the Costa del Sol! So of course, we were there opening day to check it out!

Marbella has been the summer holiday destination hotspot for beach and party lovers for years, but now it is becoming the trendy meet up location for contemporary art lovers! If you have been to Marbella old town, you already know that Marbella is rich in culture and art, but ART/Marbella intends to put Marbella as an important must-go-to location on the cultural map for contemporary art. A few steps into the gallery, and we're sure they'll do just that.

The gallery opened its doors yesterday (28th of July, 2017) and closes shortly on the 2nd of August, 2017 - blink and it's over!

So if you still haven't cancelled tomorrows plans to visit the gallery for yourself, here's the first reason why you should: Dionisio González is a Spanish multidiscipline artist and photographer who is exhibiting his new collection of work for the first time ever at ART/Marbella. Whilst his other work is homed in Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and the Museum of Contemporary Photography of Chicago (two name just two), his new collection 'Thinking Central Park' will be in Marbella until the 2nd of August - right under our noses!

If you need another reason to reschedule Mondays luncheon, here is why you should: Lita Cabellut. She is known as Spains most valued contemporary artist. The strenghts of her work come from her insanely good photorealistic portraits, and her large scale canvasses in which she gives the classic fresco technique her own contemporary twist.
