Things to do at home in Covid-19 Isolation

Family Fun Inspiration

Inspiration for all the family during the lockdown period

We may not be travelling but that doesn't mean that we can't use this time to discover new interests and grow our abilities at some of our favourite hobbies. Rather than binge-watching box sets during the Covid-19 lockdown period, why not take this time to be constructive! Here are some suggestions for things to do from home which also, importantly, still support the local Marbella businesses.

Switch up your fitness regime

Don't miss out on your workouts just because the gym is closed, why not get in touch with Scott Roberts and he can coach you at home online, cllick HERE for more info or tune into a live session with Morgan Bruce on our Facebook page or on her own channels.

Take a Cooking Class

Why not learn to cook while you have the time! Check out Food Room social media pages for at-home recipes. Click HERE for more info.

Learn to play the Piano or take a singing lesson

Virtual Museum Tour

You can´t visit the museum in person so why not visit one of Malaga's most cultural spots the Carmen Thyssen Museum Just like its counterpart in Madrid, the Malaga museum contains a particularly impressive selection of works from famous Old Masters, Romantic Landscape painters and some of the finest 19th and 20th-century artists.  Click HERE

Do some gardening and learn to grow your own Vegetables

Our resident local expert Johnny Gates has put together a helpful little video about growing your own vegetables at home from products that you probably already have in the fridge!  You can watch it in the gallery.

Learn some new makeup and hairstyles

Liza Mayne Makeup with has made some fantastic tutorials about makeup and the hairdressers from Bardou have been doing hair up and styling tutorials.

Read a great travel book

We may not be able to travel freely at the moment but reading about travel is a great way for adults and kids to let their imagination carry them to happier places! El Corte Ingles has a huge selection of literature that you can purchase online and use their click and collect service.

Sort out your finances

Finances are boring and something easily put to one side when you dont have time in your day to day life. Independent financial advisor Jason Swan is offering free consultations during this difficult period.
So why put it off any longer?

Get some new board games

Board games are great for families as well as for couples and if you are on your own then there are also lots online where you can play against other members of the public! El Corte Inglés has a great variety or maybe turn to Amazon for delivery.
Our favourite board games include:

  • Rat-a-tat-

  • Sushi Roll

  • The logo game

  • Pac Man

  • Scrabble!

Order delivery from one of the local restaurants

Certain restaurants have continued to offer a home delivery service so give the home cook a night off and order in!  This is a handy list of venues offering this service (please note we rely on them updating us if this has stopped) and don't forget the wine!  Casa Santi are offering a home delivery service for all your favourite tipples!

Tune in to some of our My Guide Marbella Live Sessions on our Facebook

We have been inviting different local businesses to take advantage of our Facebook reach to give their own Live Sessions!  Djs, Trainers, Make-up artists, Hairstylists and more will be coming to you through the week with fun and engaging live sessions so keep checking out social media for news.

Other suggestions:
- Talk to the team at The Boardwalk about their volunteer services currently operating to help feed homeless and those in need
- Make a treasure hunt in the garden, if you are lucky enough to have one.
- Learn to Play Poker
- Download an app and finally learn Spanish!
- Clear out & rearrange your wardrobe (put things to one side to donate to 2nd hand shops)
- DIY, fix those niggly things that have been needing attention for months like painting the living room.
