The Little Geranium is located in La Cala de Mijas, owned and led by Celebrtiy chef Steven Saunders famed for his years on Uk Television as well as being owner of the Pink Geranium in Cambridge (where the late Princess Diana cited his Duck Salad as the best she had ever tasted and chose it from the menu on every subsequent visit) and Brocket Hall.
And of course behind every great man there will always be a great woman, and in this case it's Michele, Steven’s wife who is responsible for the operation and hosting every evening at the restaurant.
The Little Geranium is a boutique fine dining restaurant offering a refined yet refreshingly seasonal a la carte menu focused on local quality ingredients as well as a 5 or 7 course tasting menu with options for wine pairing also. The restaurant is open for dinner only from 19:00-23:00 and offers easy parking to the rear. You can expect Michelin quality cuisine and flair in the kitchen with the team guided by Steven himself, but with a less formal environment than other restaurants in the area; in fact it really is a very welcoming and service centred restaurant with just 25 covers so you can expect attention to detail at the table as well as in the kitchen.
To give some background to the talent we mention in the kitchen; Head Chef Matthew Donaldson and Sous Chef Aaron Sanlon have moved to Marbella from Belfast following years of experience working with another Michelin Chef, Michael Deanes, at Deanes in Belfast. They bring youth, skill and passion which combined with Steven's executive and all seeing eyes and truly hands on involvement means a gastronomic experience that will enlighten even the most experienced palette.
Steven's signature style is evident but you will experience a more diverse and adventurous menu in this restaurant. If we are to dine here we would most certainly take the tasting menu option however that's not to say that you can't keep things lighter and straight from the a la carte.
